What would have happened if they canceled THE FUGITIVE back in the 60s before they caught the one armed man and exonerated David Janssen? Would a mysterious group of investors show up 20 years later to finance the conclusion of the series just to see how it ended? These and other questions are answered in DISTANT SIGNALS, the best episode (by far) of TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE, and for my money the best episode of TV from the 80s. A beautiful little tribute to failed dreams and the creative spirit. Great writing and performances all around. The color is quite faded on this download, so if you can, try to see the original on disc. The photography is even moodier. Or catch it again on CHILLER (but they place their commercials at some extremely unfortunate places).
